Relocurious is all about navigating the ups and downs of moving abroad with intention. It is meant to be of value to individuals and families considering a move, as well as those already on the way.

Instead of offering advice on visas or shipping companies, we invite you explore the deeper questions related to moving:

  • What fears are holding you back, what values are pushing you forward?

  • How does considering a move change your sense of identity?

  • What makes some people thrive in a new country, while others struggle?

  • What can you thoughtfully consider now, to save yourself headaches later?

The big question is, what does it take to prepare emotionally for such a transition?

Who We Are

We are Kathy and Michal—partners in life, sharing a curiosity about what it means to start fresh in a new country. We both have moved internationally multiple times, sometimes for temporary work, school or experiences, other times more permanently.

We have experienced firsthand the joys, doubts, and personal growth that come with unplugging and resettling. Our journeys have sparked a passion for self-reflection, learning from others, and conversations that matter, as we navigate the emotional rollercoaster of letting go of the past and inventing a fulfilling new present.

Who We Are Not

Though we get energized by exploring what inspires, motivates and drives big moves, reflecting on life’s turns and how things turn out, and applying ideas from psychology to learning from experiences, we are not experts.

We don’t have all the answers to the things that matter to you — but we’ll help you look for them. We’ll happily challenge and support you as you ponder life’s big questions. We bring a keen desire to connect deeply and learn and grow with you.

Finally, we are not mental health professionals, and we cannot offer the kinds of analyses or guidance that such trained professionals can. But we’ll listen and stay curious.

Our Approach

We’ll share our stories, the wisdom of others, insights from psychology, and resources that have helped us along the way. You are welcome to join us in exploring:

  • The deeper “why” behind choosing to relocate (unplug, escape, restart, etc.), and what it means for our lives and identities.

  • Tools and prompts for reflection and deeper self-understanding that helped us as we prepared for, and undertook, our own big move.

  • Resources to help you on your own emotional, and perhaps geographical journey toward a different life.

We hope Relocurious becomes your place of comfort—where you feel seen, supported, and inspired—whether you are dreaming of starting a new life in a new place, or you are in the midst of relocating, or you like to reflect on a move already made.

We Want to Hear From You
